2020-2021 FRC Team

Team Goal:

The 2020-2021 Team ,wishes to be the most creative we can be , as we work vigorous to produce excellency and nothing less . By doing this , we hope to acheive the rookie of the year and any other awards we can. Secondly , as we build robots we wish to acheive grants , sponsor and scholarships for these wil develop the team but also give us the students a chance to seek quality education world wide.

Meet The Team:

Matthew Douglas

Mentor

Mr Matthew Douglas is the mentor of Team Barbados 2019. A teacher of Electrical and Electronics Technology at the CXC, CSEC level and also CAPE. Mr Douglas is dedicated to helping his students succeed in all forms of work and encourages them to do their best at all times. Passionate about developing the future with technology and robotics, impact and change how tourism, agriculture , manufacturing, ecommerce and also networking of technology intentionally.

Malachi Morgan

Student

My name is Malachi Morgan, I'm currently 17 years old and I attend the Combermere. I am studying Pure Mathematics, Physics, Electronics and Communication Studies. I was invited by Mr Douglas to join the Barbados Robotics Team to participate in the upcoming events during my two years at Combermere. I am one of the main engineers in the team but i also help where i can whether it be financially or in terms, marketing and promoting our team or brainstorming for ideas for community service projects.

Blair Knight

My name is Blair Maximillian Franklyn Knight , I am currently 17 years old and a proud student of the Lodge School . The subjects I am currently doing are Pure Mathematics , Physics , Computer Science and Caribbean Studies. I really enjoy taking pictures of things I find beautiful . when I was editing YouTube videos and my “most creative male” video I was in my element . My end goal in my life is to travel the whole world taking photographs and videos about what I will see and have experienced

Isaiah Carrington

Student

My name is Isaiah A. Carrington and I am a 16 year Harrisonian in my 5th year. I specialize in python programming but I also have knowledge in front-end Web Development. As an aspiring developer, it goes without saying that STEAM plays a very important role in my career path. Given my skill set, being able to work with the Team is a major push. As this is my first FIRST event, I want to do my best and leave a distinctive mark.

Jarad Inniss

Student

Jarad is a 17-year-old, Barbadian, male student. He attends The Lodge School, located in Society, St. John, Barbados where he is currently in the 6th form pursuing his CAPE studies in Chemistry, Physics and Computer Studies. Jarad joined the Barbados Robotics Team on July 7th , 2020. He joined seeking to learn and better understand what goes into making a robot. Currently Jarad has not found a profession that he wants to pursue, however he wants to pursue something in the technology field. Whatever profession he has in the future he hopes that what he does may be able to help people in some way, allow him to travel ever so often, with friends and family and that ultimately, he enjoys doing it

Kayla Arthur

My name is Kayla Arthur and I am fifteen years old. I can be described as a fun loving caring person who loves to cook and enjoy spending time with my family. I attend Queens College where I study the sciences, geography, Theatre Arts, English and Mathematics. I love animals and have dreams of becoming a veterinarian. I joined robotics because I love to see problems solved and I eagerly look forward to learning something new and competing in the future.
